The original clubhouse of the Highlands Golf Club, The Dickens building has been retained as a lovely activity center. Complete with a lending library and meeting rooms, organized activities in the arts, computers, camera skills, bridge and other card games take place here. Both classes and regularly scheduled social time may be found on the active calendar of events. In addition, our membership staff often organizes tournaments and social trips to interesting area locations.

June is a whole month of “Kodak moments” with graduations, vacations, happy dads and beautiful brides. When you need a break, stop by the pool for a quick dip, lounge on the deck with a cool drink and rewind for our busy Summer Season.

Bridge Anyone?
If you’re looking for a bridge game, stop in the Dickens lobby and make your reservation for Ladies Bridge by signing the sign up sheet on the podium. The ladies welcome you at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 2nd and 16th and Fridays, June 11th and 25th . Men’s Bridge is played every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. If you’re interested in joining them, call Bill Thompson at 379-7955 for Tuesdays and Bruce Blidner at 894-0550 for Thursdays. Evening Bridge is scheduled for Tuesday, June 15th at 7:00 p.m. If you’d like to play, e-mail Mrs. Lucille Spicer at lucillea@comcast.net or call 342-4512 by the Sunday before. Singles and couples are welcome.
The Camera Club meets all summer, so make plans to attend one of their upcoming meetings at 7:00 p.m. on Mondays, June 7th and June 21st. If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, but just never got around to it, this is a great time to attend a meeting. Bring your friends, members or non-members.
Watercolors with Carolyn: Sign up now with Carolyn Merenda and create the next great watercolor masterpiece. Carolyn welcomes all levels, novice or advanced with classes on Mondays at 9:30 a.m., but by appointment only. Call Carolyn at 366-2866 to arrange a class. Fee is $20.00 per class.

Stretch & Tone continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. Water Aerobics Classes are held at the pool on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8:30 a.m. (Please note the time change.) Bring a towel, and please sign up at the Fitness Center in advance so if class is cancelled you can be called. The above classes are included with your fitness membership, and members without fitness privileges may take a class this summer for only $5.00, member charge only.
Yoga classes with Susan Claire continue on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Please bring a yoga mat. Flow Yoga with Jill York continues on Tuesdays at 5:45 p.m. Bring towel, water, yoga mat, block and strap if you have one. Fee for either Yoga class is $10.00 members and guests, $15.00 non-members. Please call and reserve for Yoga classes as space is limited.
Spinal Awareness & Posture classes continue on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. Fee is $8.00 for members, $12.00 for non-members. Please sign up prior to class as space is limited.
